CHINA SUPPLEMENTAL PRIVACY NOTICE

The cross-border collection of personal information of residents in China is governed by the PRC Personal Information Protection Law of China (PIPL).

Legal basis

For residents in China, we will obtain your proper consent for collection and processing of your personal information as required by the PIPL and other relevant laws. However, we may collect, use and process your personal information without your consent under one of the following circumstances:

  • it is necessary for us to conclude or preform a contract to which you are a party;
  • it is necessary for implementation of human resources management or the collective contract concluded;
  • it is necessary for us to perform the statutory duties or statutory obligations;
  • it is necessary for us to respond to a public health emergency or to protect the life, health and property safety of any individual;
  • such acts as news reporting and supervision by public opinions are carried out for the public interest, and the processing of personal information is within a reasonable scope;
  • it is necessary to process the personal information disclosed by you or other personal information that has been legally disclosed within a reasonable scope in accordance with the laws; and
  • other circumstances prescribed by laws and administrative regulations

In the event of any change of the purpose or method of processing or the type of personal information we process, we will re-obtain your consent.

We will secure your separate consent in the following data processing activities:

  • Processing of sensitive personal information;
  • Provision of personal information to another personal information controller;
  • Disclosure of the personal information we process to the public; or
  • Cross-border collection of your personal information.

In China, sensitive personal information refers to the personal information that is likely to result in damage to the personal dignity of any natural person or damage to his or her personal or property safety once disclosed or illegally used, such as biometric identification, religious belief, specific identity, medical health, financial account, whereabouts and tracks, as well as the personal information of minors under the age of 14.

As a data subject in China, you have the rights according to the PIPL and other applicable laws. We will try our best to support the exercise of your rights according to the law, but please be aware that your exercise of certain rights may affect the services we can offer or be subject to certain constraints. For example, if you would like to delete your personal information provided to us, but the retention period prescribed by the applicable laws and regulations has not expired, or it is technically difficult to delete the personal information, we will cease the processing of the personal information, except for the storage and any necessary measure taken for security protection.

Cross-border data collection

In order to perform the Service, your personal data described below may be collected by the data controller directly and retained for the minimum period of time necessary to provide the Service.

In addition to China Supplemental Privacy Notice, other sections of this Privacy Policy also apply to users in China to the extent permissible by the applicable laws and regulations.
